No fewer than 35 persons were killed in a trailer accident on Yola-Ngurore road in Adamawa State on Sunday, Premium Times reports.

Premium Times reports that a witness said the trailer was traveling from Song to Yola when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Bello Ngurore, Adamawa State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), confirmed the accident and was on the scene to help rescue passengers.

“The driver of the trailer lost control, tumbled down the expressway, and spilled out the passengers,” he told Premium Times.

Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson Othman Abubakar corroborated Mr. Ngurore’s statement, adding that 35 persons were killed and 28 others were injured.
