Scores Killed In Boko Haram Attack In Borno State

A security source in Maiduguri says Boko Haram terrorists may have killed scores in an attack in Magumeri town in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday evening. The source said the militants razed down houses, including a police station, and the civilians fled into the bush. The militants rode into the area on 10 utility vehicles, shooting and even attacking the military formations.  Residents began to run away as the battle between troops and the terrorists grew.

Security source in Maiduguri says Boko Haram terrorists may have killed scores in an attack in Magumeri town in Magumeri Local Government Area of Borno State on Wednesday evening.

The source said the militants razed down houses, including a police station, and the civilians fled into the bush.

The militants rode into the area on 10 utility vehicles, shooting and even attacking the military formations.  Residents began to run away as the battle between troops and the terrorists grew.

Ba Usman a villager in the area said: "As I am speaking with you I have not seen my wives and children, we all fled into different directions. I don't know how many people were killed."

The incident came less than 20 hours after four bombers struck Maiduguri, killing two and injuring 16.
